Public art projects by Aiyudot Khom

2018

Uniquely BowdenWorking collaboratively with key businesses and groups throughout the Bowden precinct, I am presenting artworks inspired by these organisations that illustrate the unique character of Bowden. 

The first artworks celebrate Cirkidz, the circus school and performing troupe located just down the road from the fence on Fifth Street. 

Many thanks to Life More Interesting for commissioning this work and the trainers and young artists of the Cirkidz performance program for their enthusiastic engagement in all stages of this project.

Four seasons of play - This project reflects on the changing face of the Mitcham Hills across a single year and on the special place that natural play settings have for younger people and their families. Funded by a City of Mitcham Public Art Grant




Shapes of St Raphael's - The artwork depicts St Raphael's students engages in a range of activities. Each piece is modelled on a photographs of the students.




Goodwood Fence Art - a series of artworks celebrating many facets of life on Goodwood Road. Presented for the Goodwood Road Business Association.
The Diligent Bureaucrat, a notan by Aiyudot Khom presented on the Goodwood Primary School fence during SALA 2018


2017

Ghost painter - an interactive digital installation where visitors use body movement to paint on a large digital screen. Presented at Renewal SA's Light Innovation Technology event, 11 November, Old RAH site.




Charging and Balance - two fence artworks presented with support of Splash Adelaide. 




12x12 Emoji - a community participation artwork presented at the 2017 Maker Faire Adelaide, where visitors used plastic cups to create 12x12 pixel emojis. 




Modbury Sporting Hub Discovery Trail - fence art used as markers on a family oriented walking trail in and around the Modbury Sporting Hub. Launched in October 2017. 





Eight Word Stories - animation of eight micro-narratives, authored by David Chapple. Presented on the Target wall in Rundle Street, Adelaide, as part of the East End Moving Images project.  




Cup art - St Michael's College, Henley Beach - two re-usable cup artworks installed as part of the school's art week.

Winter 2017

Bike Beat Box - Aiyudot Khom, under the guise of Roland Rimshot and accompanied by Ms Daisy Wheelwright, presented Bike Beat Box as part of the Glenelg Tour Down Under Street Party on 18 January 2017.

Many thanks to the City of Holdfast Bay for funding this project.

Bike Beats was a performance installation where street party visitors jammed with Roland, Daisy, a wind-controlled beat box (a converted bike) and a drum kit made from old bike bits to create spontaneous rhythmic music. 



2016
Goodwood Fence Art - a series of artworks celebrating many facets of life on Goodwood Road. Presented for the Goodwood Road Business Association.




#Capri75 - celebrating the 75th birthday of the Capri Theatre. Cup art of Marilyn Monroe. 

 


















































































Maker Faire Adelaide - With the help of visitors to the Maker Faire, I created a fence artwork around the theme of Sustainability. The work is now a feature of the Main Assembly Building Tonsley. 



Upper West Side Project - I installed a fence artwork on Clarendon Street Adelaide, as part of the Upper West Side Project.  






2015
2 darn hot - science and stories of climate change are brought to the streets of Adelaide in the lead up to the Paris Climate Change negotiations. Running from 9 to 30 November. Presented with support of the Conservation Council of South Australia. 







River Bank - a series of video loops, presented on five solar powered road signs, celebrating the ways we are inspired, entertained and rejuvenated by the places and events of the River Torrens. Presented  as part of the Adelaide Convention Centre's West Building launch, 11 to 14 March 2015.

2014
Daily - a journey through the rituals, routines and revelations that shape our weekday life. From 14 to 27 September 2014 video loops were presented on solar powered road signs located in three pedestrians zones of the Adelaide CBD.

(Un)Familiar - a series of short video stories, designed for the Rundle Lantern, that present the very familiar in rather unfamiliar ways. The viewing audience are taken on a journey skirting the fine line between the virtual and real.

2013
ABOUT 50 - Aiyudot was about 50.  To celebrate, he hosted a 2013 Fringe event where visitors to the Garden of Unearthly Delights found and contributed to a Geocache hidden in the Garden.
