Election Posters

On 30 March, I co-led, with Elizabeth Close, a community workshop where people could make their own posters for display on stobie poles during the 2019 Federal Election.

Few people know that anyone can display posters during election periods providing:
- The posters are authorised. The requirements are described in the Australian Electoral Commission’s Electoral Backgrounder: Electoral communications and authorisation requirements
- The posters can only be displayed during certain times during the election campaign and placed only on certain public infrastructure. Each local council publishes policies relating to this.

This initiative was part of a broader community network initiative, A Better Boothby, which looked to engage with the community and election candidates to achieve better federal representation in this marginal South Australian Electorate.
